EVOO is a cooking school in Cannon Beach. It gets a special mention here because it is unique. On certain nights Bob demonstrates various cooking techniques and then serves his creations to his audience!
Maggie’s on the Prom in Seaside is just a block from the Inn. Its proximity to the Gilbert Inn and view of the Pacific is why it gets featured on this page. The food is reliably good. Maggie’s offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Are you looking for some live music with spice? The Lil’ Bayou, a Cajun restaurant at 20 North Holiday in Seaside, features live jazz on Thursday (6-9PM) and music “most Saturday evenings,” according to the owner, Karen, during the summer season.
We recently dined in Astoria, 18 miles north of the Inn, at Gunderson’s Cannery Cafe. The bar is funky, the staff casual, the view is extraordinary (under the Astoria Bridge just a few hundred feet south of the Columbia River’s main shipping channel) and, on the night we were there, the food was delicious.
Another dining option? Grab a few hotdogs and s’mores fixings at the store, buy some firewood and head down to the beach for a sundowner. Evenings on the beach are special with the view of Tillamook Head, the sound of ocean waves and the smell of campfires...
Whatever your dining plans, we hope you have a great experience.
